Women's World Day of Prayer Service 2012

The service this year is to be held in Morpeth Methodist Church, Howard
Terrace, on Friday 2nd March at 2 pm.  The theme will be "Let Justice
Prevail" and has been prepared by the Christian women of Malaysia.

Rehearsals for the committee and readers will be held at 1pm and choir
rehearsals at 2pm on Fridays 17th and 24th February in the church.  A full rehearsal of readers and choir members will be held in the church at 10am on Friday 2nd March.

Please support this service - you will not be disappointed as each year we join together from all the churches in our locality and throughout the world.  Each year we have a special flavour of a different country.  It is an amazing time of fellowship.

Men are welcome also at the service.

WORKING TOGETHER - The Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr  Rowan Williams, has written one of a new series of Bible studies produced by Christian Aid to inspire, inform and challenge churches and their members.
The 'Working Together' series of Bible studies provides individuals and church groups with an opportunity to discuss the topics of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) from the perspective of faith.
Author Janet Morley has written the final study in which she reminds us that the teaching of Jesus has a very practical application for our lives.
This is accompanied by a contemporary reflection and series of discussion starters. Finally each study concludes with a prayer and suggestion for action.
The studies can also be downloaded from the website:http://www.christianaid.org.uk/resources/churches/resources/working-together.aspx
BIBLE READING FELLOWSHIP GROUP
Please remember to pay four your books before the 17th February. Cheques to be made payable to ‘Lifestyle Christian Books’ and returned to Chris McPhillips. Many thanks.
FLOWERS: You may have noticed the wonderful flowers that decorate our churches and the hard work and dedication that is behind them. All our flower ladies very much welcome donations towards the flowers, perhaps at a time of celebration or to
remember someone at a special time of the year. If this appeals to you, have a word with Pat at St Mary’s (514998), Pauline at St James (511407) or Dorothy at St Aidan’s (512118).

LIFESTYLE CHRISTIAN BOOKSHOP: We have been informed that the bookshop is suffering loss of customers due to the roadworks. Please remember the bookshop when thinking about buying gift cards, etc.

LENT GROUP: JESUS - HIS HOME,
HIS JOURNEY, HIS CHALLENGE.
Starting on the 29th Feb at the New Life Christian Centre. If you would like to attend please complete and return your form to the Parish office, together with a £5 donation.

The Real Easter Egg is the only Easter Egg that explains the Christian understanding of Easter on the box. With each egg comes a free copy of Easter Booklet. The Real Easter Egg is Fairtrade.
This year it would seem to be unlikely that the Real Easter Egg will be available in supermarkets. Would anyone in the parish be willing to take orders from people in the congregation, collect money and place an order online. For more information visit wwww.realeasteregg.co.uk or talk to Jeremy Cooper.
