The Mothers’ Union

"The purpose of the Mothers’ Union is to be specifically concerned with all that strengthens and preserves marriage and Christian family life" Membership is open to all who have been baptised in the name of the Trinity and who declare their support for the aim and objects of the society - therefore membership is not exclusively for mothers, but for all people.
We meet on the second Monday of each month at 7.30pm in St. James’s church and at 1.45pm on the fourth Monday. We normally begin our meetings with a short service in church and then have a varied programme of speakers. We also help in the parish in various ways, including the provision of receptionists for Vestry Hour and Relate.
