Healing Support Group

We hold a Healing service on some Sunday evenings which is open to everyone, and there is also a group of people in the parish who have taken on the responsibility of praying every day for people who are in need. The list is confidential and names can be added to it at any time.
At the service each person in the group brings names of people who are sick or in need of help to the altar and a candle is lit for each one. Anyone who wants to go up to the altar rail to receive the laying on of hands can do so during the service. Afterwards, the group meets to prepare the prayer list of people whose names were placed on the altar and they are prayed for daily until they are better.

If you want to have someone's name on the prayer list, you can give the details to any of the clergy, the churchwardens, or you might want to leave the name(s) in an envelope, marked 'For the Healing List', at the back of the church. A first name and a brief reason is all you need to give, although you can include more details if you want to.

If you know of anyone who is in need, or is sick, either at home or in hospital, please do make a point of telling the clergy. Don't assume someone else will do it. Clergy would rather be told about people in need many times than not be told at all.
