ALPHA PLUS
|
Alpha Plus is a Parish
house group that meets usually at the home of Geoff and Muriel Harris.
Formed after a successful Alpha Course was run in the Parish
several years ago, the group decided to stay together for
regular fellowship and Bible study. Under the guidance of the Revd
John Beckwith, the group meets fortnightly on Thursdays, starting
with refreshments and then having a time of worship, teaching and
prayer. The 'Plus Factor' is the sense of being friends, all
caring for each other. New members are always welcome
to attend meetings. Details of meetings available from Frances at the Parish
Office 01670 503326 or from Geoff or Muriel Harris 01670 515579

An Alpha Course consists of a series of talks addressing key issues relating to the Christian faith.
There is a light meal together at the beginning of each session which gives people a chance to get to know each other.
After each talk we divide into small groups to discuss the topic of the evening, ask questions and express opinions.
Alpha is a place where no question is too simple or too hostile.
Talk titles include: Christianity: Boring, Untrue and Irrelevant? Who Is Jesus?
Why Did Jesus Die? How Can I Be Sure of My Faith?
Why and How Should I Read the Bible? Why and How Do I Pray? How Can I Make the Most of the Rest of My Life?
